Fitness is as essential to our body as any other necessity for it helps in becoming the best version of ourselves in the long run . It hardly matters if you are a student in college , a working professional or a retired individual , fitness can help you achieve a perfect blend of a much responsive, agile and healthier self . They say age is just a number and so is the case with fitness, it does not matter if you are 20 years old , 40 or above 60 ; you can always begin to help your body to shape-up in order to enhance your health and life.




What is Fitness ?

Fitness is a quality of being physically healthy and strong-enough in order to be "fit" for a particular job or task. Fitness can be described as an ability to complete a particular task ( like playing a sport , doing daily activities or training at gym ) with energy and undue fatigue. Physical fitness does not only make the body healthy but also adds on to the over all health of mind .

Fitness is something that could help us attain a much healthier body , this way we can delay the ageing process in long run.

This could be done from various activities like jogging, cycling, walking and swimming in case of beginners who want to attain fitness. Since it is for beginners in particular it should be done in moderate terms initially. Physical exercise helps to maintain circulation of blood and keeps the muscle strong and healthy.

If you are a complete beginner to Fitness you can always begin with practicing yoga , and doing meditation . Not only Yoga is a powerful way to attain physical fitness but also equally helpful in stabilizing the mind and soul . Meditation helps in improving concentration and getting a focus on what we really want , hence it is of much importance to mental well being.


Proper Nutrition :

With increasing stress and pressure of work , people are often seen neglecting their nutritious meals while choosing improper fast food options , untimely snacks and high sugar content drinks . It is one of the major cause of health issues and lack of fitness among people as whole , to counter this we need to turn to proper nutrition in our food to attain health. Organic food items like fresh vegetables , dairy products and diet with complete vitamins and minerals is required for the body. One must always choose a well balanced diet so that body can get the required nutrients .


Sufficient Rest :

A healthy body requires a sufficient amount of rest in order to achieve physical fitness. A good sleep during night in very essential for the body after any intense physical activity , this will help the body to get repair itself and get ready for next day. This will also allow mental health to enhance .




How Fitness is useful and how it effects the overall health ?

Fitness is useful as it makes the person healthy , relieves stress and helps in avoiding various diseases and ailments. It helps our body to improve its flexibility , agility and becoming more responsive . Physical fitness help us improve our over all personality by shaping-up our body , improving our mental health and increasing our nutrition input .

Physical exercise makes us maintain our over all health as fitness can assist us in getting rid of various ailments and elimination of various diseases before hand, like Blood Pressure problems. A physically active lifestyle can significantly bring down the risk of Cancer and Type-2 Diabetes , Obesity ,Weight Problems etc.

Fitness also is responsible for improving our immunity power and help in anti-aging ; physical activity releases various enzymes and hormones that help in the growth of cells that repair the body like GH (growth hormone).  The physical activity results in short period of inflammation but it creates an anti-inflammatory effect for long period , hence the metabolism improves and body becomes healthier and physically fit.
 
Fitness boosts up the mood , being involved in regular activities it can help in psychological health , it is an effect that can be seen at any age.


Don'ts for a complete beginner to Physical Fitness :  

  • A beginner to physical fitness must never over do the physical activity initially but only increase its intensity periodically and once the body gets accustomed .
  • Someone suffering from an ailment or health condition must never do it prior consulting with doctor or their health instructor.
  • Never try to compromise on nutritious food while doing physical activity, eat well but healthy. 

Hence , from this article it is evident that a beginner can start physical fitness and an active lifestyle at any age. One should always set short term fitness goals initially and work their way up the ladder in order to improve with time and achieve their over all well-being. Remember small steps towards fitness will only make you fitter with time and help you become a much better version of  yourself.
